Last Thursday In our neighborhood, three Husbands/Sargent's serving in Iraq arrived home. Two of them are fathers and had Babies they had not seen in almost a year. A few of us in the neighborhood decided we wanted to do something special to welcome them home. We decided on yellow ribbons, and balloons, and flags lining the streets as they returned. We made Banners, and had had as many people as we could find line the streets waving flags and cheering. It was emotional and humbling experience. I shed a few tears as I watched the soldiers reunite with their families. The unity in the community was apparent as we all worked together and supported our troops. Ryan was waving his flag ferociously and it was a special moment I will always remember! Welcome Home Sargent's!

That's so awesome. Our good friend Erick Johnson got home this week from Iraq too. His wife has 5 kids, including 2 year old twins, now three years old. She decided to go back to Utah while he was gone to be with her family. Welcome home soldiers!
I am so happy for these ladies to get their husbands back! I wish we hadn't missed their homecoming...sounds like it was super cool!
We had a similar experience when our next door neighbor came home from Afghanistan and I'm right there with you. It is a totally humbling experience that not only makes you proud to be an American but one that also makes your grateful for the men and women who serve to stand up for and protect the freedoms we so often take for granted. You are a good friend and a good neighbor to help give those men the recognition they deserve!
I love AMERICA, and I'm sooo happy these men got home safe! True American Heroes!!
great tribute! being an army wife myself it is nice to see and feel others' support!
