We are stoked

We went out on our friends Boat, it was a great way to start off the summer! This is Ryan giving a thumbs up! He is ready to go!

Jamie getting ready to surf!

I love this blue eyed boy!

Maybe this summer, Jamie will jump the wake flipping and Ryan will swim with out his life jacket in grammys pool, and hopefully I will master my surfing abilities, and maybe even wake board....

Dinner Group with Cafe Johnsonia

{cafe johnsonia strawberry sherbet}

We were so fortunate to have Lindsey from Cafe Johnsonia attend our May Dinner Group. Lindsey demonstrated the making of Vanilla Custard Ice Cream. She also made 5 other flavors for us to sample, and answered our questions!

Lindsey has a cooking BLOG. Right now she is working on food storage recipes {you will want to check them out} She is mostly known for Making Incredible Ice Cream and many other sweets.
She made and we happily sampled: Blackberry Strawberry Sherbet, Dulce de Leche, Bittersweet Chocolate, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Orange Sherbet.
{bittersweet chocolate in a waffle cone}
I will never buy Ice Cream again! Or at least I don't want too! Her Ice cream was so good! My Vote was a tie between the Orange Sherbet and the Dulce de Leche! But honestly every flavor was better then the one before!
Lindsey also shared her prize recipes with us.

Thank you Lindsey, you were fantastic, and we had a lovely time!

Birthday Part 1

Today started out as any normal day, Ryan had snuck in bed with us in the middle of the night. He woke up smiling like every morning and scooted closer to me under the covers... Then it all Changed, Happy Birthday I said excitedly , and Dad chimed in too! You are Three today!

And then the fun began...
You want to eat marshmallows for breakfast? And in my BED?

OK! IT IS YOUR SPECIAL DAY!

Then I got out the birthday hat I made for him, just for today, and he was so excited to put it on!

After we took our Baths we headed out the door to play with our friends from school, but first we went to the store to pick out treats to share, Ryan chose doughnuts... And I let him pick out each and every one! Then his friends sang Happy Birthday and Ryan clapped!

After we played with friends we went to the store to get some balloons, because you cannot have a birthday with out them... And Ryan loves balloons too!

We came home and I decided to let him open a present, A bucket with lots of fun things for digging, and a magnifying glass that he can explore with , and he explored for 2 hours...

After all the exploring he had to have a "pop pop" Or as you know it a Popsicle..

And the day is only half over...

Ryan and I have had the best day ever!

And I'm sure he would have to agree!

HAPPY HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY RYAN!

*Stay tuned for the Presentation of the BIG WHEEL , and and fun Night with Mon and Dad!

Mothers Day

Being a Mother is the best and worst job .... You might be loved sooo much you might feel a bit smothered... or like me unable to go to the bathroom alone or sleep at night without little feet in my ribs.You might get a little nose wiped on you or chocolate cookies smeared on your favorite shirt. You might run upstairs{because all of the sudden it really quiet}and find the entire tube of toothpaste squirted out on your bed, or a box of cereal dumped on the freshly mopped kitchen floor...

But you also get to witness the first time they discover their pockets,or taste watermelon, and little hugs around the leg as you make dinner, or how when your child is sick and they just want you to hold them, or how my son kisses me just when I need it, and when I don't need it, and my favorite-the laughter that rings like a bell when you tickle them as you put on their PJ's or play "this little piggie".... The trust of a child is beautiful, my child trusts me and looks to me for his every need.

Often I find myself thinking about how I can teach him all he needs to know, so when he is grown he can survive out in the world on his own. I wish we didn't have to ever let them go.The bond between Mother and Child is special, I love how we only know what they need or want, because lets face it, Dads just don't speak our language...Motherhood is hard, but it is also worth it!Enjoy your day all of you Mothers out there,you deserve it.

Happy Mothers Day!

For Dinner

Crustless Broccoli-Cheddar Quiches

{fun for a brunch or fancy breakfast, or if you are like me dinner}

{picture and recipe from Martha}
Prep: 10 minutes Total: 50 minutes
Breakfast (or brunch or a light dinner) for one? In these individual quiches, broccoli gives the creamy cheddar and egg a nice crunch; eliminating the crust cuts down on baking time.
Ingredients
Makes 4.
Butter, for ramekins
Coarse salt
1 package (10 ounces) frozen broccoli florets
6 large eggs
1/2 cup half-and-half
Ground pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (3 ounces)
Crusty bread and mixed salad (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter four 8-ounce ramekins (or a 9-inch pie dish); set aside. Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Add broccoli; cook 1 minute. Drain well; transfer to a cutting board, and blot dry with paper towels. Chop coarsely.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and nutmeg. Stir in broccoli and cheese.
Place ramekins on a rimmed baking sheet. Ladle broccoli mixture into ramekins, dividing evenly. Bake until golden brown, 35 to 40 minutes. Serve with crusty bread and a mixed-green salad, if desired. FYI : { I blanch fresh broccoli and then add it to the recipe, I like it better then using frozen}
