UGHH!

It is snowing! I have on a space heater, just shared a bowl of hot oatmeal with Ry, and am cuddled up in a blanket watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I have errands to run, and I really don't want to go outside. So I went to one of my "go-to" websites VRBO. Have any of you ever visited this website? Here is the scoop. It is a website for Vacation Home Owners. They Rent their vacation homes out to the public. And the prices can be such a steal. Especially for a beach front location.
So while it's snowing outside, I thought I would share with you one of the Vacations Jamie and I are in the process of planning for next year. {My friend Sarah introduced me to this site when we lived together in Alexandria}

{actual house}

Our top pick is a trip the the Dominican Republic. Here's why: great beaches, great prices, other fun entertainment close by. The house we want to rent is " The villa de las Serenas" A five bedroom and five bath private villa, with a private beach, pool, maid and cook! The cook will cook whatever you want her to! Fresh lobster or crab, smoothies, and she will even bring your drinks to you while floating in the pool. Does this sound like a dream come true? I wish we were there right now! The cost is what is so great at $1225.00 PER WEEK . That is for 4 guests. You will tip the maid and cook at the end, but they have a recommended amount and it is not much with the exchange rates. My friend stayed there and the groceries cost them around $120.00 for the entire week, and that includes the tip! If you want to cut costs the villa sleeps 10 people invite some friends or family!

The main cost would be in your flight, but you can find good deals year round. Dominican here I come!

The Best Birthday Ever

SURPRISE! And I certainly was.

Jamie had planned a surprise party for my birthday. I had a feeling something was up, but I had no idea it would be a party! I had such a fun time! Many of you were too generous with your gifts and I felt like a queen for a day! And to Jamie: you did such a good job! (Mom you too!)

{Jamie and I at the Party}

We had a fiesta with Cafe Rio Salads, and yummy Desserts. Jamie asked me what my favorite Desserts were, I mentioned a few, Market Street Raspberry Almond Torte,Godiva Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory, Chocolate covered Strawberries and a Market Street fruit tart! If you want to know what can sabotage your healthy eating? Every single one of the desserts were on display! I think we all had a hard time deciding{most of us sampled them all} YUM!

{Gifts, Thank You Everyone}

Earlier in the Day my Friends stopped by, you know who you are, one friend tracked me down at my pedicure apt! A few other highlights, the sweet and thoughtful gifts, cards, cooking tools,cookbook, pans, bake ware, cake stand,candle, Gift cards, jewelery and Jamie's surprise: An I-POD! So fun and I can't wait to download my first song!

{Tina and Amelia}

I really appreciate the great friends I have. On a lighter note, I ended up with 60 Balloons in my living room! Two friends had the same idea{30 Balloons for turning 30}, and I LOVE Balloons. My house looked so festive and still does today. Ryan loves the balloons and I have not had to entertain him today! SO Thanks so much! These are the only pictures I have so those of you who took some please send them to me !

So turning 3O, I say not to shabby!

{PS: Jamie did miss a few of you on the invite list! I'm sorry but he really tried to do his best}

{Its hard when he can't ask me questions}

THIRTY YEARS OLD

I looked in the mirror before I went to the gym this morning and said "I am 30 ",

{but I don't feel like it} Although what does being 30 mean? So quickly I have compiled a list:

1. You have the right to have children {by the worlds standards}

2. You have to become more prepared{wills, retirement, life insurance}

3. You should buy a house {32 is the average age nation wide}

4. You are no longer young by any ones standards{somehow you still are at 29}

5. You need to make sure to wear sunscreen, to protect your skin that you tanned way to much in your 20's

6. You have more body maintenance because lets face it your body changes{working out, waxing, facials, hair removal, boob job or tummy tuck, just to name a few}

7. You get to enjoy life because you know what you want and where you are headed!

8. I can no longer blame the stupid things I do on being in my 20's and not knowing better!

Can you think of any more?

I have had a great day so far, I'm heading off to get a pedicure and lunch with my Mom, and then tonight Jamie's planned evening should be a fun surprise!{I'll fill you all in later}

Mothers Day Bouquets

Mothers Day is just around the corner. Martha's flowers are available for mail order through 1-800 flowers! They are so pretty. The weather here has been so dismal I wish I had a bouquet of these to brighten up my space! On Monday it snowed and was windy all day! Brrrrr feels like January not April. Where is the sunshine?

WATCH OUT!

My mom called me this morning and told me that McCain had asked Romney to Run with him as VP. I was excited and proceeded to share my excitement, and surprise being that they have such different stands on issues. After we talked for a while she said APRIL FOOLS! She had me going! Too Bad! That would have made my day!

More fun finds

I love finding things that I can make myself. These would be some fun home projects, or for a church craft activity.
{fabric covered bulletin board found at this cute etsy shop}

Last Monday I took a neighbor who is having twins to a fabulous fabric store called Eileen's. It had the most incredible hip and fashionable selections. We found some great baby bedding fabric. It made me want to sew something, anything. I will definitely be going back. Especially if I make one of these boards. It is located past Market Street in Sandy Ut in a red brick building. {thanks for the tip Aimee}

The cupcake bakeshop blog: So fun and has really awesome baking blog links! You must check it out!
